An elderly Tonto (Johnny Depp) tells the story of The Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer) to a young boy who visits the Wild West in a sideshow. He recounts the untold tale on how he helped transform John Reid, a man of the law, into a legend of justice.
Is The Plot Interesting?
I didn’t think I would like the plot as much a I did, which is one of the reasons why I think I liked the movie so much – because it was a total surprise to me. The story was well-developed as well.
Is The Acting Good?
A lot of critics criticised Johnny Depp for playing Tonto like Captain Jack Sparrow but I think the two characters have quite a few similar characteristics so it never bothered me. I also thought Armie Hammer was brilliant as John Reid.
Is The Directing Good?
Gore Verbinski has directed some great movies in the past. I thought that he showed us something quite original with The Lone Ranger when it could have easily been very stereotypical.
Is The Cinematography Good?
The cinematography has some good aspects to it but it’s not the greatest thing about the movie. It certainly added to the movie when it needed to but other than that there was nothing amazing about it.
Is It Worth Watching?
I really enjoyed this movie and definitely laughed out loud on more than one occasion. It has a well-developed story with a great cast that play their parts perfectly. I just don’t understand why the movie got so many negative reviews from the critics…
[to Reid] Eight men rode into canyon… I dug seven graves. Horse says, you are spirit walker: a man who has been to the other side and returned, a man who cannot be killed at all…
