Is The Plot Interesting?
Out of all the movies nominated for Best Picture at this years Oscars, this one stood out the most to me because of its plot. It had so much potential and I couldn’t wait to watch it to see how the filmmakers were going to go about it.
Is The Acting Good?
Casey Affleck gives it his all and ends up with an amazing performance. Lucas Hedges and Michelle Williams both give equally good performances as well. There was lots of character development in the movie so it gave the actors lots to work with.
Is The Directing Good?
The directing was better in some parts than others, but overall I thought Kenneth Lonergan did a brilliant job. He sensationalized what could have been just an average movie.
Is The Cinematography Good?
I thought the cinematography highlighted Manchester really well. Other than that, I never really took notice of the cinematography because I was just so immersed in the plot that I wasn’t really focusing on anything else.
Is It Worth Watching?
The only problem I have with Manchester By The Sea is that it got a little bit repetitive and could have maybe benefited from having a shorter runtime but I loved the performances and thought the plot was well thought out.
I said a lot of terrible things to you. My heart was broken, and I know yours is broken, too.
