Is The Plot Interesting?
The plot is focused, and in some respects simple, but that’s what I liked about it. It was straight to the point and relied on the good script rather than a crazy plot. Some of the decisions the script made in the end were bold but necessary and paid off in the long run.
Is The Acting Good?
Ben Foster, Chris Pine and Jeff Bridges were just outstanding in Hell Or High Water; I thought that each of their performances were skillful and nuanced, each reflecting their characters brilliantly.
Is The Directing Good?
David Mackenzie found his niche with Hell Or High Water. He directs this movie perfectly but I’m not entirely convinced his directing style would work with movies outside of this genre.
Is The Cinematography Good?
I thought the cinematography was amazing. There seemed to be meaning behind every shot. Also, the compositions of the shots were very pleasing to the eye and spoke volumes to me.
Is It Worth Watching?
I was apprehensive about this movie at first and didn’t know if I even wanted to watch it but from the very first scene I knew I would have fun with it. This isn’t really my type of movie but I ended up enjoying it and was pleasantly surprised.
Lord of the plains… that’s me.
