Summary

When twelve mysterious spaceships appear in different locations around the world, linguistics professor Louise Banks (Amy Adams) is given the responsibility of interpreting the language of these aliens.

Is The Plot Interesting?

Maybe it was something to do with the alien side of it or just the plot itself but I struggled getting into the story at first but by the end I was hooked. I liked how the aliens weren’t really the main part of the film so much as a tool to get to the ending the movie was after.

Is The Acting Good?

Amy Adams is one of the most consistent actresses working today in terms of good performances, and her performance in Arrival is no exception. I thought she had great chemistry with Jeremy Renner, who also was great in the movie.

Is The Directing Good?

The directing was quite good but what I noticed the most was that Denis Villeneuve seems to have a good instinct for this genre – I can’t wait to see what more he brings out in the future.

Is The Cinematography Good?

I thought the cinematography did a good job at showing the scale of the spaceships and how devastating the consequences would be if they were to attack. It also helped keep the tension-filled scenes, tension-filled.

Is It Worth Watching?

Arrival is certainly a cool movie with good concepts but, like I said before, I struggled getting into the story in the beginning but the amazing ending makes up for it. Most sci-fi fans will love it.
