When traditional medicine fails him, neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) looks for healing, and hope, in a mysterious enclave after a car accident robs him of the use of his hands.
Is The Plot Interesting?
I love movies which involve magic and time so I was immediately bias towards the movie’s plot anyway. But the plot was good and I really enjoyed it. It takes Marvel into some new and exciting terrain.
Is The Acting Good?
Benedict Cumberbatch proves, once again, that he really is a terrific actor. I just loved the way he introduced us to the character and how he presented him. Tilda Swinton also gives us a great performance, making us feel slightly in the dark about her character.
Is The Directing Good?
Scott Derrickson did a great job at introducing all of these new characters (not to mention all of the new dimensions) to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was a hard job but he did it really well.
Is The Cinematography Good?
Doctor Strange is a visually stunning movie. The cinematography represented and provided a lot to the movie. It also added tension or emotion to the scenes that required that extra push.
Is It Worth Watching?
With Doctor Strange’s plot being what it is, it could have gone horribly wrong. A lot of people might not have understood what it was trying to get across but they tackled that problem and created a great movie.
I went to Kathmandu, and I learned to tap into powers I never even knew existed.
