Set in outer space, Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) and her commander Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) are completing a routine space walk when disaster strikes. Their shuttle is destroyed, leaving Ryan and Matt stranded in deep space.
Is The Plot Interesting?
I didn’t think that Gravity was going to be half as interesting as it was; I mean how much can they really do up in space? I was wrong – they made every single minute count. I wasn’t bored at all.
Is The Acting Good?
Sandra Bullock and George Clooney are the only actors on-screen and they pull this off perfectly. Gravity was cast so well and I can’t imagine anyone else playing the roles of Dr. Ryan Stone and commander Matt Kowalsky.
Is The Directing Good?
No one could have directed this movie better than Alfonso Cuaron; he just understood the story and the characters. You can tell that he influenced and was involved in every aspect of the movie.
Is The Cinematography Good?
Emmanuel Lubezki impresses me once again with his work in Gravity. The cinematography is amazing… some of the best I’ve seen. It’s really fluent and very expressive with lots of different shots.
Is It Worth Watching?
On paper Gravity shouldn’t have worked but it did. With Alfonso Cuaron’s and Jonas Cuaron’s creative minds and the imagination of Sandra Bullock and George Clooney it turned out to be a really good movie.
[looking up at Earth] Well, you’ve gotta admit one thing: can’t beat the view.
