The world is now aware that Tony Stark (Downey Jr.) is Iron Man and the military want his technology. However, he is reluctant to share such information. With Pepper Potts (Paltrow) and James “Rhodey” Rhodes (Cheadle) by his side, Tony faces a new enemy.
Is The Plot Interesting?
The plot has lots of different points to it and it tries to do lots of different things and set up future MCU movies so sometimes it does get a bit cluttered up but it’s a small complaint.
Is The Acting Good?
Robert Downey Jr. steps into the Iron Man suit for the second time in his own superhero movie and it’s like he has never been away. Also, James “Rhodey” Rhodes/War Machine was recast and Don Cheadle doesn’t disappoint.
Is The Directing Good?
Jon Favreau directs Iron Man 2 just as he did Iron Man back in 2008 – clear and well organised. The directing is basically the same as the first one, maybe even better in certain places.
Is The Cinematography Good?
I still like the way they film Robert Downey Jr. when he’s in the Iron Man suit. I think it’s really effective and reminds us that even though he’s protected by the suit he’s still human and can easily get hurt.
Is It Worth A Watch?
Iron Man 2 is an entertaining movie, there’s no denying it, but it’s not the best marvel movie we’ve ever seen. By no means does that mean that it’s the worst marvel movie, it just could have been a little more together.
You know, the question I get asked most often is, ‘Tony, how do you go to the bathroom in your suit?’ [Long Pause] Just like that.
