Is The Plot Interesting?

This isn’t your average film plot, it’s quite different in terms of its storyline and characters. It doesn’t damage the movie in any way though because it make it’s more interesting.

Is The Acting Good?

The brilliant cast in Silver Linings Playbook include the likes of Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver who are all terrific in this movie. They deserve all the praise they get.

Is The Directing Good?

This was my first experience with David O. Russell and from the first 10 minutes of this film I fell in love with his directing style. The feel of his films are always somehow similar no matter the topic. It’s what got him into my top ten modern film directors list.

Is The Cinematography Good?

The cinematography in Silver Linings Playbook surprised me a lot. It surprised me that much that the cinematographer, Masanobu Takayanagi, gained a place in my top ten modern cinematographers list because of this movie.

Is It Worth Watching?

Silver Linings Playbook is a mixture of drama, comedy and romance that work well together which is difficult to do. With an amazing cast on top of that it’s a really good watch.

4/5

You have to do everything you can, you have to work your hardest. And if you stay positive you have a shot at a silver lining.
