Summary

When Earth is under threat from aliens after they misinterpreted video feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war, the president (Kevin James) hires three gamers (Adam Sandler, Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage) to defeat them.

Is The Plot Interesting?

To the people who love video games the plot will be interesting but the people who aren’t really that interested in them will more than likely not get into the plot and for that reason enjoy it less.

Pixels 1

Is The Acting Good?

Some performances are better than others but overall the acting didn’t impress me. Adam Sandler plays the same character again and does it in the same way, again. He doesn’t give the character any charm or charisma which makes Brenner a bit boring.

Is The Directing Good?

I’ve liked Chris Columbus as a director for a long time now but he just misses the mark here. It’s not the worst directing I’ve seen from him, in fact he’s the best part of the movie, but it’s not the best I’ve seen from him either.

Pixels 2

Is The Cinematography Good?

The cinematography didn’t impress me much at all either, it didn’t contribute anything to the movie. The movie always seemed to have the exact same camera angles and movements but very basic camera angles and movements.

Is It Worth Watching?

I think it’d be best if you gave this one a miss. A really weird plot mixed with not the best acting and an unrealistic love story, that nobody really cares about, doesn’t usually lead to a good movie.

2/5

We got this, if we don’t, the world ends.
